Privacy Policy
Last updated · May 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how benchnext ("benchnext," "we," "us"), operated by Evrim Olçum, collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit our website, sign up for the waitlist, purchase a founding membership, or use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Waitlist signup: email address.
- Account & billing: name, email, billing address, and payment details. Payment details are collected and stored by our third-party payment processor; we do not see or store full card numbers.
- Service content: commission records, customer names and contact details you choose to enter, photos, templates, and messages you create inside benchnext.
- Support correspondence: any information you send us by email or through support channels.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Product analytics: we use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site and the app, with the goal of improving the product. PostHog stores its data on EU/US infrastructure depending on configuration.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process payments, deliver receipts, and manage subscriptions (through our payment processor).
- To send transactional and account messages — for example, beta access announcements, billing receipts, and important changes to the Service.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (for providing the Service and processing payments), our legitimate interests (for improving and securing the Service), your consent (for optional marketing emails or cookies, where required), and compliance with legal obligations (for tax and accounting records).
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run benchnext, including hosting (Vercel), email delivery, product analytics (PostHog), and our third-party payment processor (the merchant of record). These providers process information on our behalf under appropriate data-protection terms.
- Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of benchnext, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if benchnext is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you if your rights change.
5. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the EEA or UK.
6. Data retention
We keep waitlist emails until you ask to be removed. Account and commission data is retained while your account is active and for up to thirty (30) days after cancellation, after which we delete it, except where longer retention is required by law (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
7. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information; to restrict or object to processing; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, email evrim.olcum@kodado.co. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of essential cookies and analytics identifiers to operate the site and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
10. Children
benchnext is intended for adults running craft businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the Service.
